Using a Conservative Approach
In general, male eyelid surgery is performed using a more conservative approach compared to female eyelid surgery. To avoid over-correction and feminizing a man’s appearance, Dr. Hause will typically limit the amount of fat, tissue, and skin that is removed during male eyelid surgery. This approach usually requires shorter incisions and leads to more natural-looking results.
Paying Attention to Masculine Features
An experienced male eyelid surgeon like Dr. Hause knows how to enhance the eye area while still maintaining the characteristics that make men look handsome and masculine, including the outside corners of the eyelids. The outside corners of male eyelids are not arched whereas female eyelids typically do have a slight arch. Dr. Hause is careful to not arch the outside corner of the eyes in male patients because the effect may cause the man to look feminine.
Another distinct difference between female and male features is the position and arch of the brow. Female eyebrows usually sit a little higher on the brow bone than male eyebrows and have a slight arch. Male eyebrows typically sit flat on the brow bone. Over elevating or arching the brow can give a male patient to look feminine.
