Post-operative Services

Scar tissue and contracture is improved tremendously with ultrasound. Most believe this is due in large part to the thermal effects of ultrasound with the loosening, stretching, and re-orientation of collagen tissue. This has demonstrated great effects in speeding the healing of firm or bruised areas occasionally seen after face lift, tummy tucks, or liposuction. Treatments sessions last 15-30 minutes and involve application of the ultrasound over the firm areas followed by home stretching and massaging exercises. Six to twelve treatments provide the best results with improvements seen usually after four sessions. Home exercises and massage preserve the results.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound waves are used to reduce swelling, bruising, discomfort and tissue firmness all associated with the healing process of surgery. This is also effective for treating the symptoms of capsular contracture.

Facial Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic Drainage massage is a physical technique that assists the movement of lymphatic fluid in the tissue. By using Dr. Vodder’s method of lymphatic drainage, we are able to reduce patients’ swelling, bruising and overall discomfort much sooner.

Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels can specifically and predictably improve wrinkles, texture, pigmentation and some degree of looseness. The peels we offer are customized to your anatomy, lifestyle and specific needs. The type of peel that is right for you will depend on your skin condition and whether you want a single, aggressive treatment or several, slightly milder treatments.

Glycolic Acid Peel
Glycolic acid is a natural fruit acid which is derived from sugar cane. This is an Alpha- Hydroxy acid which is used to exfoliate the top layer of damaged epidermal skin cells. The exfoliation will promote collagen stimulation exposing healthier, younger cells and a plumper smoother surface to the skin.

Jessner's Peel
Jessner’s Peel combines resorcinol, lactic acid and salicylic acid. This peel is used for greater exfoliation of the outer layers of skin cells and stimulation of collagen regeneration in the deeper cells. The depth of the reaction is controlled by the number of coats of solution applied; this is a self neutralizing solution. The advantages of this peel over the TCA peel are that it can be used on other areas of the body and that the discomfort level is considerably more tolerable. The results are a smooth more youth-full appearance free of discoloration and impurities.

Blue Peel
The Obagi Blue Peel is a Trichloroacetic acid peel with a blue color indicator that is used as a depth indicator. The application of the Blue Peel will lead to the removal of thin surface layers of aged and damaged skin. Exfoliation lasts 10-15 days. This is an excellent treatment for blemish-prone skin, pigmentation problems, sun damage or general skin laxity.
