It’s no secret that celebrities make fitness and looking good a priority. And, many of them have personal trainers and private chefs who help them do just that. Here, Dr. Donald Hause salutes celebrities who have clearly been doing their crunches and eating their veggies, as is evidenced by their enviable abs.
This mom of three has had enviable abs for as long as we can remember. However, the No Doubt front woman and solo artist knows there’s no secret to staying in shape. She says, “There is no secret: you just have to eat healthy, work out, and torture yourself!”
Considering Gwen is 45 years old and looks as fabulous as she did when she was in her 20s, we will have to agree with her.
Goldie Hawn’s daughter credits her regular exercise routine for her athletic figure and fantastic abs. She says that her workouts are not necessarily long and time-consuming, but that they are consistent. The mother of two explains, “I wouldn’t say [I work out] a lot, just consistently. People think for some reason you have to work out for two and a half hours. … but, it can be little. It can be 20 minutes; it could be 40 minutes.”
Exercising for 20 minutes a day? Now that’s an attainable goal.
Female celebrities aren’t the only ones with enviable abs. Matthew McConaughey has some of the best abs in the biz. There’s no question about how the southern charmer gets his chiseled look, though. He has been known to run on the beach, do pull-ups on a jungle gym and drop and do some pushups — all without a shirt on, of course.
Joe Manganiello is as famous for his rock-hard abs as he is for his celebrity girlfriend, Sofia Vergara (who also happens to have enviable abs). In fact, many of Joe’s television and movie roles — including True Blood and Magic Mike — require him to film scenes sans a shirt. And, Joe’s abs are so enviable that they often look fake, prompting Magic Mike director Stephen Soderbergh to call Joe, “Walking CGI.”
Need Help Getting Enviable Abs of Your Own?
If you eat healthfully and exercise consistently but are not achieving the enviable abs you would like, it might not be your fault. Hereditary factors, the natural aging process and other considerations can cause stubborn pockets of fat to develop, which are resistant to healthy lifestyle efforts — hey, we can’t all be born with celebrity-grade genes!
If this sounds familiar, Dr. Hause can help. At his Sacramento plastic surgery practice, he offers liposuction and tummy tuck surgery to help fine-tune a less-than-perfect midsection, so you can look like you have Gwen’s personal trainer on your payroll.
